AGENDA:  

  1. Prayer 
  1. Rosie Barton leads the group in a prayer for Pope Leo. 
  1. Approval of Minutes: 
  1. The group noted corrections that need to be made to the previous meeting’s minutes.  
  1. Reports 
  1. Mission and Governance 
  1. Andy will schedule a meeting with the trustees.  
  1. Education 
  1. Enrollment is projected to reach 2,058 students.  
  1. The team is purchasing books this year.  
  1. Due to difficulties in sourcing science textbooks, the focus has shifted to math.  
  1. Finance 
  1. Rose led the group through the financial report.  
  1. Year-to-date revenue is up by $2.5 million, continuing to exceed budget expectations. April had no unusual expenses and was considered a typical month. The team is working on clearing outstanding tuition accounts as the end of the year approaches.  
  1. SCCS met with a new representative from US Bank.  
  1. Human Resources 
  1. Logan provided updates on Human Resources. 
  1. Aides and aftercare employees will need to be hired at SJA as each room opens.   
  1. A contract has been submitted for an interventionist at JFK. 
  1. The only remaining vacancy is for a quarter-time music teacher at St. Paul’s.   
  1. Pre-employment physicals for new maintenance hires are being implemented to reduce workers’ compensation claims.   
  1. Each physical costs $200.  
  1. Genesis Health will conduct the physicals.   
  1. Performance evaluations were sent out to managers last week.  
  1. Exit interviews have been distributed to employees who are leaving.  
  1. There was an additional injury to a maintenance worker.  
  1. The worker has no restrictions and is back at work.  
  1. Staffing the incoming freshman class at Assumption is challenging due to high enrollment numbers, and additional hires will be necessary.   
  1. Communications and Marketing 
  1. Website projects are progressing on time and within budget.  
  1. Facilities  
  1. A corporate resolution to purchase the West Hayes property must go through the trustees. Andy will meet with them this week. If approved, the resolution will proceed to the College of Consulters and the Diocesan Finance Committee. Upon final approval, an offer can be submitted.  
  1. The Grant School building requires a roof and boiler inspection. 
  1. If the building is purchased, it will need a storm shelter and potentially an elevator. 
  1. The estimated cost is $2 million, based on the Johnson building’s footprint.   
  1. The Grant School is reportedly in better condition than Johnson.  
  1. Technology 
  1. Staff members will attend AI training with Beth this week 
  1. Beth Tinsman will provide an example of how AI is being integrated into education.  
  1. Other

  1. New Business 
  1. St. Joan of Arc is experiencing an issue with its preschool:  
  1. Because district lines are being crossed from Bettendorf to PV, the state is treating it as though a “new” preschool is being opened and won’t provide funding for the first year.  
  1. This will cause a $250,000 hole in the SJA budget.
